The first part of the Research Studio Austria “Sonder ME” comprises a comparison of all existing processes from the primary and secondary production of refractory metals and ferro-alloys. One constriction is the description of processes which are applied in Austrian companies. In addition to the listing of the processes, data is gathered for mass and energy balances. Finally, the resulting balances are evaluated in terms of technology, economy and ecology.
